This is a completely different alternative to enjoy the natural marvels of the region. We start with a transfer from El Chaltén in 4x4 with the mountain bikes to Desierto Lake (40km). We then return downhill along the same track to El Chaltén, with some few, but easy ascents.

Itinerary

We leave El Chaltén on Route 23 in a 4x4 and drive to Desierto Lake.
We will visit the Desierto Lake from different viewpoints to take some great photographs of this spectacular mass of water.  This will be the perfect moment for a quick snack, drink some mate, relax and just admire the view!

The mountain bike trip starts at the source of the Vueltas River in the Desierto Lake. During the ride we will be able to enjoy some beautiful valleys, imposing mountains, forests and streams of glacial origin; for example the Milodón River and the Puesto River. We circle the Condor lagoon; where it’s normal to spot flamingoes, black-necked and coscoroba swans, ashy-headed geese, etc.  Furthermore we will be able to admire some waterfalls such as the Anillo waterfall. The Vueltas River will accompany us all the way back to the town.
